In my photographic portrait series, "Vulnerable Warriors," I sought to capture the essence of young Senegalese amateur wrestlers, a group of ambitious and determined men who possess an unwavering spirit of resilience. Set against the backdrop of the breathtaking natural landscapes of their village, this series is a visual celebration of the interplay between human vulnerability and the beauty of nature.

Wrestling in Senegal holds immense cultural significance, embodying not only physical strength but also a profound sense of identity and community. The wrestlers dedicate themselves to rigorous training and face numerous challenges, both within and outside the arena. Inspired by their unwavering determination, I aimed to showcase a different side of these young warriors—an intimate portrayal that reveals their vulnerability, sensitivity, and connection to the world around them.

By juxtaposing the strength and physicality of the wrestlers with the delicate beauty of nature, I aimed to challenge preconceived notions of masculinity and strength.
